Mission

The mission of the Align with Africa Foundation is to support and scale community-based initiatives across Africa by fostering local leadership, providing essential resources, and building strong, collaborative networks that drive sustainable development and improve lives. Its mission is rooted in the belief that communities are already empowered to drive the change they want to see and that our role is to give them the agency and support they need to achieve their goals.

  • Transform Africa Fellowships: This program builds the capacity of local leaders through mentorship, training, and hands-on experience in sustainable development, equipping them to drive impactful change in their own communities.
  • Community-Driven Development (CDD) Projects: CDD projects offer communities the resources and support to implement infrastructure and development initiatives tailored to their specific needs. By strengthening local leadership and fostering long-term sustainability, the Foundation ensures that development remains community-driven and responsive to local priorities.
  • Economic Empowerment Initiatives: Focused on supporting women-led businesses and youth entrepreneurship, these initiatives provide financial backing, mentorship, and market access. USAID Local Implementer Training prepares local organizations to secure and manage international funding, and young entrepreneurs are trained in content creation to share local success stories with a broader audience, build visibility, and engagement.

Align With Africa LLC

Align with Africa is a social enterprise focused on creating sustainable livelihoods by connecting African artisans and entrepreneurs—especially women in rural areas—to global markets through responsible trade practices and compelling storytelling. Profits generated from these activities are reinvested into community development projects that align with local needs.

Content Creation for Marketing and Storytelling: Align with Africa partners with youth trained by the Foundation to create authentic marketing content, highlighting the cultural heritage and personal stories behind each artisan’s product. This storytelling approach builds a deeper connection between consumers and artisans, fostering ethical trade and promoting sustainable economic growth.
